Are you planning a romantic getaway, a honeymoon, a second honeymoon? If you are, then you should consider booking a cruise to Bermuda. Going to Bermuda is great, but taking a cruise to Bermuda is even more luxurious and exciting.

Considering Bermuda Cruises
Who wouldnt want to vacation on a tropical island like Bermuda? It simply sounds exotic. Bermuda, also known as Somers Isles, is located in the northwest Atlantic, near the Gulf Stream. Many people who are not familiar with the area confuse the island with others in the Caribbean. It is not!

This island is actually a nominal British territory, meaning that it is considered British territory but it makes and applies its own laws internally. All people who are not born in Bermuda are typically considered foreigners, including the British. Only natives of this island (or those considered citizens of the island) are allowed to own land here.

What Documentation Will I Need?
But dont be fooled–Bermuda welcomes tourism. Once on the island, you will be embraced by the culture. However, before you book your Bermuda cruise, there are many things you must do before you can make your trip truly happen. Bermuda is an island that is considered British territory, so depending on where you are traveling from, you must obtain the appropriate documentation.

The preferred type of documentation in Bermuda are passports. However, you can also use birth certificates, re-entry permits, green cards, visas, naturalization certificates, and more (depending on the country you are traveling from). Travelers on the island must carry photo identification at all times. Similarly, children traveling with adults must carry a letter of consent with them if they are not traveling with their parents or guardians. If you plan on traveling with a pet, you must first get permission and documentation from the Bermuda Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.

Having Fun on Your Bermuda Cruise
Once you have all of the little kinks (such as documentation and travel planning) worked out, it is finally time to actually enjoy your trip. There are a plethora of things to do on both the cruise ship and the island. You will need to find out which ports you will be visiting and how long you will be at each location.

Bermuda is an archipelago made up of 150 islands. However, because it is actually only 21 square miles, the Bermuda natives refer to the chain as the Island. Some of the popular places you may want to consider visiting are Horseshoe Bay, Skroggins Hill, Hamilton, or even Crystal Caves. Moreover, if your cruise does not dock in parts of the Island that you wish to see, you can always chart a smaller boat or ferry.

Taking a cruise is fun because it is so luxurious. Luxury cruise liners typically offer services that make their guests feel pampered. Some of these include massages, manicures and pedicures, facials, and much more. Island cruises are awesome because you can enjoy the company of a loved one while experiencing fine dining and making new friends.
